In its draft guidance, “Characterization of Metallic Coatings and/or Calcium Phosphate Coatings on Orthopedic Devices,” the FDA details what it wants to see in marketing submissions for class II and class III orthopedic devices that are manufactured with either metallic or calcium phosphate coating.
