Lilly, Allergan and Biohaven plan to launch oral drugs for on-demand treatment of migraine attacks in the first quarter, hoping to harness a large market where new preventive therapies are already competing for patients.
Migraine impacts a billion people globally, including about 39 million patients in the US alone, representing a very large market that still has a lot of unmet needs despite the availability of well-known generic drugs for both prevention and acute treatment.
