Roche has been rewiring its pipeline and portfolio under the leadership of pharmaceuticals CEO Teresa Graham since mid-2023, with a goal to deliver more best-in-class medicines to the market and rebalance the portfolio across five key therapeutic areas. Head of pharma strategy Karsten Jung has helped develop and execute on the strategy. He talked with Scrip at the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco about the company’s progress.
What has changed in the last 18 months, he said, is the pharma organization’s focus on five key therapeutic areas where there is high unmet need: oncology, ophthalmology, neurology and immunology, plus cardiovascular, renal and metabolic disease (CVRM).
